Shona Maguire/Plum is a multi-talented songwriter and producer, creating touching, eclectic, and always emotive music. Undertaking work experience at Split-Level Studios from age 15-19, she was keen to learn studio engineering and recording. Frustrated by being unable to communicate her creative ideas exactly as she wanted, Plum undertook a Music Production course in London (2006). With time focused on production and composition, by completion of the course she had already been signed to American label Summer Rain Recordings, releasing “The Whispering Chamber” (2007) and “The Glory Feast” (2008). Upon returning to Scotland, Plum quickly established herself as a notable force in the Scottish electronic music scene and was snapped up by prestigious label Benbecula Records as the only female artist in their 11 year history, releasing critically acclaimed album Different Skin (2009).

Following this, Plum had extensive airplay/interviews on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Scotland, and local radio stations, and toured the UK and Europe.

Achievements:
Awarded ‘Best New Music of 2007’ on New Jersey’s Home Grown Radio
Won the ‘Make Your Mark in Music Award’ from the Arts Council of England (2008).

Just favorited “Lone - Bloc 2011 - DJ Set” by Bloc. on Mixcloud.com

Lone knocks out the tropical vibes on his latest track “supernova Looms” with a crazy off beat snare, Trippy!

2 Dead Crew - Attack of the subs

In Response to the Previous post, 2 Dead Crew have sent us a mix of their post dubstep apocalypse sound, lets see if these “zombie puppet masters” are in control.

2 Dead Crew Mix - Attack Of The Subs by Uniquebeats on Mixcloud

Dubstep uprising.

Message from paul aka pixel tech, No input.

Paul: Ladies and gentlemen, dubstep is dead. Been dead for a while now and rotting ever since. Nobody thought to check on its corpse though. Nobody except 2deadcrew. And they’ve done a terrible thing. They didn’t sever the head or destroy the brain, they fed it. And now it’s angry. The zombie puppet masters are in control. All you can do is wait. It will catch you.

Unstable Beats: Have you only just realised? Dubstep is dead over 3 years now. I though I severed it’s head, I even pissed in its face from a great height and publicly ridiculed it prior to it death. I’m not scared of the zombie puppet masters! Our wonky bass-bots from the future will assimilate them!

Paul: Our Dubstep is harder than your dubstep

Unstable Beats: our Wonky Bass-Bots "from the future" are more intelligent than your dubstep! Ha ha ha!!!

This is the amazing sights of the 360 Dome visuals during Jerome hill’s set on Friday night and i must say, i am now a Jerome hill Fan! The guy is awesome even if he is more of a techno DJ, i love it!!

Updated: Siriusmo

Untitled from Unstablebeats on Vimeo.

Next up Siriusmo. I was really looking forward to seeing this guy and he didn’t disappoint! Played a lot of stuff from his new album “Mosaik” plus a good load of older stuff that really got me into him in the first place like too simple. Really looking forward to rinsing his new album and seeing what remixes come off the back of it.

Updated: LONE

This is LONE playing at Bloc last month, He completely rocked it, i was pretty ruff, that’s why i was up the back at the front, but as soon as i heard jupiter jazz i got all emotional and had to go down the front to dance with tears in my eyes. He played all the ravey tunes that he’s done along with some stone cold classics, really looking forward to raving it up again in Edinburgh!! :)

VIDEO UPDATES: BLOC.

It’s been a while in coming but here is Untold rinsing it like no one else at Bloc. His sound is truly unique, he is not much of a showman but the sounds shine on their own.

T.Williams podcast from XLR8R

Wow!! Is all I can say! It’s been a while since I’ve got excited about a mix but this one just shines through, really simple programming, chunky beats and wonky synth and bass lines. This is a very colourful mix, sound like his own production but you have to check XLR8R.com for all the details. Definitely an artist I’ll be looking out for in the future and has inspired me to go make music…. When I get a minute!
