Ooops! Forgot to post this nearly 2 week ago when it was Ultra Fresh! oct well? Better late that never.

Shona Maguire/Plum is a multi-talented songwriter and producer, creating touching, eclectic, and always emotive music. Undertaking work experience at Split-Level Studios from age 15-19, she was keen to learn studio engineering and recording. Frustrated by being unable to communicate her creative ideas exactly as she wanted, Plum undertook a Music Production course in London (2006). With time focused on production and composition, by completion of the course she had already been signed to American label Summer Rain Recordings, releasing “The Whispering Chamber” (2007) and “The Glory Feast” (2008). Upon returning to Scotland, Plum quickly established herself as a notable force in the Scottish electronic music scene and was snapped up by prestigious label Benbecula Records as the only female artist in their 11 year history, releasing critically acclaimed album Different Skin (2009).

Following this, Plum had extensive airplay/interviews on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio Scotland, and local radio stations, and toured the UK and Europe.

Achievements:
Awarded ‘Best New Music of 2007’ on New Jersey’s Home Grown Radio
Won the ‘Make Your Mark in Music Award’ from the Arts Council of England (2008).

Next up Siriusmo. I was really looking forward to seeing this guy and he didn’t disappoint! Played a lot of stuff from his new album “Mosaik” plus a good load of older stuff that really got me into him in the first place like too simple. Really looking forward to rinsing his new album and seeing what remixes come off the back of it.

This is LONE playing at Bloc last month, He completely rocked it, i was pretty ruff, that’s why i was up the back at the front, but as soon as i heard jupiter jazz i got all emotional and had to go down the front to dance with tears in my eyes. He played all the ravey tunes that he’s done along with some stone cold classics, really looking forward to raving it up again in Edinburgh!! :)

Wow!! Is all I can say! It’s been a while since I’ve got excited about a mix but this one just shines through, really simple programming, chunky beats and wonky synth and bass lines. This is a very colourful mix, sound like his own production but you have to check XLR8R.com for all the details. Definitely an artist I’ll be looking out for in the future and has inspired me to go make music…. When I get a minute!

OK, just found my new favorite artist on soundcloud, Himuro Yoshiteru, a Previous SoundClouder of the Day, is a solo electronic musician based in Tokyo! His style is described as playful and his tracks are comprised of finely chopped, fast rhythms in combination with jazzy bass, synthesizer lines and 8bit sounds (like video game music). I call it Wonky Beats but you can call it what you want.

This is his new album available from his site, i’m gonna get it as soon as i have funds again i’m sure you can get it through paypay not sure how much 900yen is though.
